Expanding Growl

Growl comes with a number of default display styles. Each of them has different settings that you can change to your likings.
Bezel (a dark-grey square in the middle of your screen), Brushed (a brushed metal view), Bubbles (a higly customisable view), Candybars, Crystal, MailMe (sends you an email instead of an onscreen display), Music Video (a large banner at the bottom), Plain, Smoke, Speech (speaks the message through the speakers)

If you want, you can add display styles to Growl. ResExcellence hosts the list of display styles created by other users.

Create your own style

Growl styles are created with HTML and CSS. There is a tutorial on creating and installing a WebKit-based display plugin.
